OVERBITE AND UNDERBITE
For most people, the teeth meet together comfortably with a small ‘overbite’, where the upper teeth sit slightly in front of the lower teeth. In some patients, this overlap may be large and is known as a ‘deep bite’. Alternatively, the lower teeth can be placed in front of the upper teeth when the mouth is closed, causing an ‘underbite’.
This happens when the lower jaw or the teeth are positioned too far forward.
